Chelsea eye up Spalletti

June 4, 2008

Luciano SpallettiChelsea have missed out on both Mark Hughes and Carlo Ancelotti and now have moved to sign Roma manger Luciano Spalletti.

Why have Chelsea lined up a Spalletti..?

Well after missing out on other managers Luciano now tops the bill and he does have a certain pedigree in Italian football.  Spalletti was named coach of the year in 2006 and helped Roma in defeating Real Madrid in the Champions League last season. His Roma team also finished 2nd in Serie A.

Could they sign Spalletti..

Yes definatly, Roma are in debt as it is and the compensation they could get for Spalletti would help their cause.

Chelsea will hope they don’t get set back again in their pursuit of a new manager.

Clubs line up to sign Welsh Whizkid Aaron Ramsey

June 4, 2008

Aaron RamseyPremiership clubs a lining up to sign Cardiff City’s star Aaron Ramsey. Man Utd,Liverpool amd Arsenal are among the many clubs who want to sign the 17-year old and he has been aloud to speak to all of the clubs interested in him.

Race hots up…

The race got intense last night after Man Utd claimed to have struck a deal with Cardiff over Ramsey. This news prompted other clubs like Tottenham and Everton to inquire about the Welshman.

Why do clubs want to sign Ramsey..

Well he has been seen as the best player since Ryan Giggs to come out of Wales and has already become the youngest ever player to appear in an FA Cup final. He is an established member of the U21 Wales team and is already pushing for a place in the senior team.

Who is leading the race..

Well Man Utd seem to have the edge as they have agreed to let Ramsey go back on loan at Cardiff for one more season.  But other teams like Tottenham also have plus points such as Aaron’s friends Gareth Bale and Chris Gunter both part of the Tottenham team.

It will be a difficult decision for Ramsey but what ever team he choose’s he has a very bright future in front of him.

C-Groove Olivia Putter

June 4, 2008

C-Groove Olivia Putter I heard about this putter when I was in the clubhouse a few weeks ago. I decided I would invest in this putter.

What qualities has the putter got..?

Well I was told that you can put spin on the ball with the putter, also the ball is supposed to roll a lot better with this putter (I suppose you have to rely on the greens for that to happen). Well I thought I would try it on the green and low and behold I did start to putt better. I couldn’t quite put spin on the ball but i could judge the pace of the putt a lot better. I started going very close to holes and having a very easy second putt.

The price..

Well at £149 there are cheaper putters, I think the price is that high because the pro’s do use this club. I think if you’re struggling with putting then you must invest in this putter, it is really easy to judge the pace and it could give you lower scores and more points.

The Draw shot

June 4, 2008

The draw shot, perfectly played from Tiger Woods.

So How do you do the shot..

Firstly set your clubface square to the ball and aim your body right of the target. Hold your club a bit more loosely than usual as this will help your follow-through. If you’re feeling a bit uncomfortable then move the ball up you’re stance. This creates an out-to-in swing which is perfect for this shot. As you follow-through you may feel your right hand turns over your left hand, again perfect for the draw shot.

Advantage’s of this shot..

Well I find this shot so natural and it isn’t as hard to control as the fade shot. This shot will improve your game and if you’re a “slicer” then try this swing to hit the ball straighter.

The Fade Shot

June 4, 2008

Well if you’re not familiar with the Fade shot it’s where the ball starts left and moves right through the air.
So how do you play it..?

Firstly set your clubface square to the ball, remember to hold the club very tight in you’re bottom three fingers as this will mean you release the club slightly later thus creating the right-to-left trajectory.
Secondly aim your body and feet left to the target but still keep your clubface square to the ball. With everything aiming left this should automatically create an out-to-in swing, which is perfect for the Fade shot.

Follow thorugh..

Make sure you come across the ball on the downswing and the ball will go left and come back to your target. It is hard to perfect the spin on this shot but when it comes off it is great to watch and play.

This shot is good when you have a dog-leg hole, you now can swing the ball round the corner and leave yourself an easier shot to the hole.

Ronnie proves he is a magician

Ronnie O’Sullivan sends the crowd into rapture’s with this 147 at the UK Championship. Mark Selby could only watch as Ronnie won the deciding frame with a maximum.

How to putt…

June 4, 2008

putting How to putt...One of the hardest things to learn in golf is putting. Especially when you’re on sloping greens and facing a 60ft putt to achieve par. I can’t guarantee you will be knocking in 60ft putts but I can guarentee you will 2 putt rather than 4 putt on the more challenging greens.

The tips..

Firstly always try to keep the same length forwards and backwards. So if you pull back 3ft push through 3ft. If you do this then you will find that you feel the putt a lot more and constantly hit the putt the same length. Why does this help? Ok let’s say you’re standing over a 20ft putt. You pull back just a few inches, you now realise you must push through more to get the ball to the hole. Also if you pull back far you now realise you must slow down a lot and not push through as much.

More tips..

Try to keep your hands as free as possible as you do not want them to interfer with the swing. If not then your hands will push through to hard and you lose the feel of the putt. Another tip is not to hold on the club too tight, as the same thing may occur with pushing through too hard and not feeling the putt. Try to keep your head as still as possible, in other words do not peek. I always like to see if it’s on line with the hole. If you do this then you may lift and not hit the ball out the centre the putter. This is vital to putting, keeping your balance is key and it definatly helps in putting.

Try these tips when you are next on the green. It will help with your putting.

3-wood chip shot

June 4, 2008

The 3-wood chip shotAre you struggling with your short game?

Are you losing too many shots around the green?

Well maybe you should add a new shot to your game. You may have seen some pro’s pulling out a 3-wood when their on the fringe of the green. Crazy I know, or are they, if you ask me whatever the pro’s do I will try and do the same, if it works for them then it can work for you.

Playing the shot…

Very easy to do this shot, pull out you’re 3-wood and take a very small swing and a very small follow-through. Grip very low on the club almost on the shaft and make a pendelum like swing without any power what-so-ever.

Advantage’s of the shot..?

I am always worried about making a fool of myself round the green, going 30ft off the green or coming up short. This shot is so easy to feel and easy to get it close to the pin. I really feel this shot could improve your short game, which means lower scores and more points.

Taylor Made r7 Quad Driver

June 4, 2008

driver1 Taylor Made r7 Quad Driver

This golf club is great for players who are not the best off the tee. It gives you complete control of your swing and you might just add 20 yards on your drive. I find with this driver that you really feel the head hitting the ball and on fade and draw shots its very comfortable and relaxed.

The price…

This is very expensive at around $800!! I know not the cheapest but i think it is worth every penny, you won’t need another driver for the rest of your life. I don’t think absolute beginners should invest in this but if you can play decent golf then it is the perfect club for you.

You will be able to improve your game with this club and i have not read one bad review yet!
