Mourinho up against old club in fight for Deco
June 10, 2008
Jose Mourinho is set to go head to head with former club Chelsea over the signing of Barcelona playmaker Deco. Barca are ready to offload Deco as they look to rebuild a new squad and restart the glory days. Deco said…
“There are only two possibilities and they are Chelsea and Inter, but I have not decided my future yet. The decision of where I play is mine. I have to meet with my agent to decide what is best. But I won’t go to a club that does not interest me and does not allow me to win titles.”
Deco has a very good relationship with Jose Mourinho so that could persuade him towards Inter. However with Portuguese players like Carvalho, Ferreira and Hilario at Chelsea and Portuguese manager Phil Scolari big favourite to take over Chelsea he could be persuaded there.
With Deco a possible signing for Chelsea this could push out Frank Lampard and mean a possible reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho. Jose has had his eyes on a couple of Chelsea players and Chelsea targets and he looks set to fight his old club over more than one player.

France poor in scoreless draw
June 10, 2008
France put in a very poor performance as they played out a 0-0 draw with lowly Romania.
France played poorly…
They came here as one of the favourites but after this performance, they will not be anymore. They played the game as if they had already won it, even in the final parts of the game they strolled round the pitch with no desire to go and win the game. It was if they were 3 or 4 nil up.
Romania did not go for win…
Romania got 11 men behind the ball for the whole game and rarely ventured into France’s half. When they did, they ran it into the corners and held off the French defenders.
All in all the game was a very poor spectacle and I do not expect neither of these two teams to make it through to the next round.
Ramsey chooses Arsenal
June 10, 2008
Man Utd, Liverpool and Everton have all missed out on the signing of Welsh whiz kid Aaron Ramsey. According to Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale Aaron has decided on Arsenal, he said…
“We would have much preferred him to remain as a Cardiff City player or returned here on loan next season had he gone somewhere else. In an ideal world I would have wished him to go to Manchester United were to he to leave us. But we have to be careful as we have relationships with Arsenal and want to do business with them in the future.”
This is the second possible signing of the summer for Arsenal as they are still pushing to sign Samir Nasri from Marseille.
Barry wants out
June 10, 2008
News that Aston Villa fans were dreading, Gareth Barry wants out, or at least his agent says so. Liverpool have been pushing for weeks and now look to have finally persuaded their man.
Gareth’s agent said…
”Gareth has spoken to Martin since he returned from England’s game in Trinidad and told him how he feels. At this stage of his career Gareth wants to be playing Champions League football and believes this is his chance to do it.”
This news will crush Villa as they had hoped to keep their inspirational captain. Gareth Barry was believed to have phoned his manager, Martin O’Neil last night to try to force through a deal with Liverpool.
Aston Villa are not going to go down softly and except £15m for his services.
