andy-murray3 Murray defeats Tommy HaasAndy Murray continued his fine form at Wimbledon with a tough fought victory over Tommy Haas. The Scot dropped his first set of the tournament but still won 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

After the match Murray said…

“It was a good match. I had a chance to win in straight sets but played a poor service game. But he had few chances on my serve and I played very well. I was pleased with the way I managed to play in the tight situations. My mentality on court was very good. The older you get, the more you get used to everything. I’ve got some good people around me and I’m just enjoying myself on court.”

Murray now faces number 8 seed Richard Gasquet who defeated Giles Simon. Andy knows he will have to improve but if the crowd get behind him and he keeps his composure he has a chance of making it to the quarters,

Rafa overcomes Kiefer at Wimbledon

June 28, 2008

rafael-nadal1 Rafa overcomes Kiefer at WimbledonRafael Nadal overcame a tricky first set to book his place in the last 16. Rafa won the first 7-6. Many would have though the match was going to be close but Nadal stepped it up a gear and claimed the second set 6-2. He then won the third set 6-3 to shrug off Nicolas Kiefer’s challenge.

After the match Rafa said…

“Kiefer was a difficult opponent, he has a very good serve. Right now, I’m just happy to be in the fourth round, I’m doing well and have just lost one set (to get to the last 16). Now I know I have a tough opponent and I must focus on my game.”

Rafa will now meet Mikhail Youzhny who won in 5 sets over Radek Stepanek. 7-5, 6-7, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.

It will be another hard match for Nadal. Nevertheless I certainly won’t be backing against the Spaniard in his quest to win Wimbledon.

Adebayor makes huge u-turn

June 28, 2008

adebayor1 Adebayor makes huge u-turnAdebayor has made the biggest u-turn in football history. Just yesterday, he said he was going to stay at Arsenal but today he has been speaking about what would happen to Arsenal if he left the club.

Emmanuel said…

”If they’re going to get 50 million for me and they bought me for 10 million, everyone is getting the benefits. I have asked Arsenal to look at it and see what they want. I have a promise from the manager Arsene Wenger that they will call me next week. I am waiting for their answer and next week I will decide. I need to know before I come back to train on July 21. At the moment, I am in a position that I don’t know where I will play.”

This news will hurt Arsenal fans after just yesterday he said he would stay. He has lost all respect of Arsenal fans after what he has done to the club.

Simon Says…

I can’t believe what he has done to Arsenal and most importantly Arsene Wenger. He was made the one of the best by Arsene and now he has stabbed him in the back. He will never get any respect from Arsenal fans and rightly so in my eyes.
