Sir Alex reveals transfer plans
June 30, 2008
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his plans for the summer. His main priority will be keeping Star man Cristiano Ronaldo but he has promised that he will not sign more than one or two players. He said…
“The European Championship derails transfer activity. Nothing really happens when the championships are on. Obviously, now that is all over, people settle down. Managers are back at their clubs and you can get some dialogue now if they are interested. But I wouldn’t think we would buy any more than one player. We are looking at one or two things. Clubs with ambitions don’t want to sell their best players, so it’s not as easy as you’d think and we tend to look for younger ones.”
The news comes as a bit of a surprise with United being linked with a number of stars. The question is who is the the sole signing United will buy.

A lot of things have been invented about me but the fans have always recognised my hard work and professionalism. All that I ask now is to return to playing as soon as possible - it doesn’t matter where. I want to do what I love most of all, and that is to play football.”

Roger overcomes Hewitt
June 30, 2008
Roger Federer continued his dominance on grass with a convincing display over former World number one Lleyton Hewitt. The Swiss maestro won in straight sets 7-6, 6-2, 6-4. Hewitt was a little hampered by his hip injury but even if he was fully fit he would have struggled against the dominance of Federer.
Roger said…
”I think I served really well which was important against Lleyton, I saw he was struggling with his hip but nevertheless, he was dangerous. I think the key was the first set tie-break and afterwards I played consistently well and saved a lot of break points which was crucial.”
In other Wimbledon news all of the top four seeds in the Women’s draw are out. This means that the favorites are now the Williams sisters who both had comfortable victorys. Rafael Nadal overcame Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets to meet the winner of the Gasquet Murray match. Finally Roger’s next opponent will be Mario Ancic who won a marathon match against Verdasco in the fifth set 13-11.
