Jose Mourinho to take back some Chelsea players?

June 19, 2008

jose-mourinho Jose Mourinho to take back some Chelsea players?Jose Mourinho is going to war with Chelsea. He wants to sign Lampard and Drogba and is ready to swoop for former playmaker Deco as well. Jose is going to spend big and has already agreed to sign Roma midfielder Mancini for £15m.

Mourinho said…

“I’m not a nostalgic person. However, I recognise the players who have helped me win and I would never say no to signing Deco, Lampard or Drogba. I’d like to work with them again but it’s not an obsession.”

This news comes at the wrong time for Chelsea after they have been rejected by three of their transfer targets. Kaka, David Villa and Torres have rejected the chance to join the Scolari revolution. Big Phil is running out of star players to buy and he has no hope of luring Ronaldo from United. He is telling Ronaldo to go but surely, he would not go to Chelsea. It should be interesting to see who else Chelsea are going to go for.

Simon says…

I think it’s about time someone told Romans millions NO. Last year he proved you could not buy leagues and Champions Leagues and having not won the league for two years Roman is desperately trying to invest in star players. It doesn’t look like its going to work though and Chelsea could struggle again next year.

Deco going to Chelsea

June 16, 2008

deco1 Deco going to ChelseaDeco has put Chelsea on red alert after he said that he would love to work with Luiz Felipe Scolari. Barcelona are willing to sell Deco for around £10-15m with Chelsea and Inter Milan set to battle it out.

Deco said…

“There’s interest from Chelsea, which is normal, but Scolari hasn’t said anything to me.  Now, we’re talking to Barca. There are other offers, naturally. Scolari is a great coach and if I end up working with him again I’d be very happy.”

Deco also spoke of his admiration of Ronaldhino. He said…

“Ronnie is a friend and I’m sure he can get back to being one of the best, if not the best player in the world.”

Simon Says…

I think Deco is a little bit past it and I cannot see him making an impact in the Premier League. If I was Scolari then I would much rather have Frank Lampard. As for Ronaldhino who has also been linked with the Blues, Ronnie still has something to give and I would much rather go for him than Deco

Chelsea warned off Torres

June 14, 2008

torres1 Chelsea warned off TorresLiverpool have quashed speculation that Fernando Torres could be on his way out to Chelsea. The Reds striker has been linked with Stamford Bridge but Rick Parry has denied this by saying…

“Fernando Torres is just not for sale to anyone. It is as simple as that, really - he is not going anywhere.”

Chelsea may go over the top of Rafael Benitez and speak to the Americans who own the club. The owners who have been abused by Liverpool fans and told they are not wanted could cash in on their star asset.

Torres would cost around £50m if Liverpool do sell.

Is Didier staying…?

June 14, 2008

drogba1 Is Didier staying...?DidDidier Drogba has made a possible u-turn at Chelsea by saying he intends to stay. Drogba has been the centre of a transfer tug with Ac Milan and Inter Milan supposedly interested in the Chelsea hitman. Didier has said that he is going to leave on numerous times over the last year but now has took a step back.

He said…

”I have a contract with Chelsea until 2010, so I am still a Chelsea player, Mourinho is my friend and I am happy for him because he was missing coaching. He is a top coach but, like I said, my contract here runs until 2010.”

This is great news for Chelsea as they look to rebuild for next season. There were fears that many Chelsea players could leave but with “Big Phil” at the helm many could have made u-turns.

Scolari named as Chelsea manager

June 12, 2008

phil-scolari1 Scolari named as Chelsea managerChelsea have finally appointed a new manager, by the name of Phil Scolari. The race had been hotting up with a number of candidates in the running, but Chelsea decided that Scolari was the man they wanted.

A club statement said…

“Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world’s top coaches with a record of success at country and club level. He gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.”

Ricardo Carvalho looks set to be offered a new contract worth £90,000 a week to keep him out of Inter’s way. It also looks like Scolari’s first signing will be Barcelona playmaker Deco, who has had a good start to the Euros.

Scolari said…

“What happened at Barcelona last season was not Deco’s fault. He is an individual who dares. He’s ready to take risks and do things differently.”

“Big” Phil will have £100m to spend and has a contract worth £5m a year.

Chelsea’s chase for a manager hots up

June 11, 2008

phil-scolari Chelseas chase for a manager hots upBig Phil Scolari has become the hot favourite to take over Chelsea after declaring he is ready to move away from Portuguese football.

Scolari said…

‘For the atmosphere, for the love of Portugal, it will be difficult to leave, but I’m a professional and I have lived everywhere in the world. I am ready to live in a different country. ‘I have a contract with the Portuguese Federation and I will fulfill that. Afterwards, we will see what happens.’

Chelsea know that if they want Scolari then they will have to wait till after Euro 2008 meaning possible transfer targets could be gone by the time he gets there. It is a big risk but would it be worth it? Phil has some great attributes and as a manger there isn’t better around. He has made Portugal one of the best European teams in the world and is trying to lead them to Euro glory now.

If Scolari does go he will be expected to win the League and the Champions League probably an FA Cup and maybe even a League Cup. I wonder if he would still keep his job after that?

Eto’o snubs Spurs

June 11, 2008

sameul-etoo Etoo snubs SpursBarcelona’s Samuel Eto’o has turned a big money move to North London team Tottenham Hotspur.

What did he say about Spurs…

“Tottenham and I hope the English excuse me for saying this, is a club in the middle of the table and I need more.”

He then spoke about other possibilities…

“I have a contract with Barcelona until 2010 and I feel well here. But I cannot exclude the option of Inter.”

The news about Inter will alert Chelsea who are also keen on signing the Cameroonian ace. The Blues have been linked with a £22m offer but without no manager they have to be wary in case the knew manager doesn’t like them.

Mourinho up against old club in fight for Deco

June 10, 2008

deco Mourinho up against old club in fight for DecoJose Mourinho is set to go head to head with former club Chelsea over the signing of Barcelona playmaker Deco. Barca are ready to offload Deco as they look to rebuild a new squad and restart the glory days. Deco said…

“There are only two possibilities and they are Chelsea and Inter, but I have not decided my future yet. The decision of where I play is mine. I have to meet with my agent to decide what is best. But I won’t go to a club that does not interest me and does not allow me to win titles.”

Deco has a very good relationship with Jose Mourinho so that could persuade him towards Inter. However with Portuguese players like Carvalho, Ferreira and Hilario at Chelsea and Portuguese manager Phil Scolari big favourite to take over Chelsea he could be persuaded there.

With Deco a possible signing for Chelsea this could push out Frank Lampard and mean a possible reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho. Jose has had his eyes on a couple of Chelsea players and Chelsea targets and he looks set to fight his old club over more than one player.

Ancelotti to stick knife in Chelsea

June 5, 2008

Didier DrogbaAfter turning down Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich Carlo Ancelotti has now demanded Ac Milan to sign Didier Drogba. Ancelotti said he and the Ac Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had an agreement thet if Carlo stayed they would sign Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba.

Adriano Galliani then said….

“We spoke to Peter Kenyon and we have the very best of relations. We spoke about Drogba, we spoke about Shevchenko, we spoke about lots of players.”

Didier would not come on the cheap and with Chelsea not having a manager, Milan might have to wait a little while before getting his man.

Chelsea eye up Spalletti

June 4, 2008

Luciano SpallettiChelsea have missed out on both Mark Hughes and Carlo Ancelotti and now have moved to sign Roma manger Luciano Spalletti.

Why have Chelsea lined up a Spalletti..?

Well after missing out on other managers Luciano now tops the bill and he does have a certain pedigree in Italian football.  Spalletti was named coach of the year in 2006 and helped Roma in defeating Real Madrid in the Champions League last season. His Roma team also finished 2nd in Serie A.

Could they sign Spalletti..

Yes definatly, Roma are in debt as it is and the compensation they could get for Spalletti would help their cause.

Chelsea will hope they don’t get set back again in their pursuit of a new manager.
