Tevez:Let Ron Go

July 24, 2008

carlos-tevez Tevez:Let Ron GoCarlos Tevez has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo should be allowed to leave Man Utd and join Real Madrid. The comments of Tevez will surely infuriate Sir Alex Ferguson as the manager is still fuming with the constant interest of Real Madrid.

Tevez said…

“Manchester United have great players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, of course. It’s clear that he is a very important player for us but this is a personal decision, which is up to only him. I understand Cristiano. Every footballer wants to play at Real Madrid. On the other hand, I also think that everyone wants to play for Manchester United. But if what he seeks is something else, I think that should be respected. I have not talked to him but when these things happen, neither side feels good.”

Sneijder snubs Ronaldo

July 17, 2008

ronaldo1 Sneijder snubs RonaldoReal Madrid star Wesley Sneijder has made an amazing attack on possible teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. Sneijder spoke about the possibility of Ronaldo joining and said how it could affect the changing room in a bad way.

He said…

“It would be bad for the dressing room as he would earn better wages than the rest of the squad. It would not matter to me but I know there are other players who would not like that. Maintaining the stability within the squad is important.”

He also spoke about how Ronaldo disappears in big games…

“To speak highly of him would be slightly disrespectful to the players that are here and have shown their class. There are already similar players to him here like Arjen Robben. I want Robinho to stay - he is almost the same as Ronaldo.  People criticise him a bit and say Robinho does not play well in big games but I’ve seen Ronaldo disappear in some of United’s big games.”

The move from Real Madrid will not happen this season because Ronaldo is injured and Real will not want to pay £60m for a crocked player. It will be interesting to see if United supporters accept Ronaldo back and support him next season.

Man Utd quash reports about Ronaldo move

July 5, 2008

ronaldo Man Utd quash reports about Ronaldo moveMan Utd have again quashed reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way out of Manchester.  Spanish reports claimed the deal was imminent for around £70m.

But a United spokesman said…

“There is not a shred of truth in it. This is laughable nonsense and to be quite honest we are getting fed up with it.  We are not entering into any discussions with anyone about selling Cristiano Ronaldo. Quite simply Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale and that is that.”

Meanwhile Ronaldo was concentrating on having an ankle injury. The winger is expected to have an operation which will keep him out for up to two months. This is a big blow for United as it means he will miss the first four games of the season including a trip to Anfield

Ronaldo calls United

June 26, 2008

ronaldo5 Ronaldo calls UnitedRonaldo, 23, has given United fans the news they most wanted by informing the club he would be going straight on holiday and would return, as instructed, for pre-season training.

His call makes it clear Ronaldo does not envisage any move to Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

The player was told he must be back at United three weeks from the day Portugal’s interest in Euro 2008 ended - July 10 - and he has said he will be there.

Ronaldo initially claimed he would return to Manchester this week for an exploratory ankle op.

But he has delayed that to go on an immediate break.

He is clearly having to accept that Alex Ferguson remains as determined as ever to keep him.

Boss Ferguson returns to work on Monday, after his holiday in the South of France.

He believes he can talk the player round, as he did after the 2006 World Cup when the wing wizard first stated his interest in joining

Will Ronaldo move to Madrid?

June 23, 2008

cristiano-ronaldo2 Will Ronaldo move to Madrid?Somehow, someway the transfer saga surrounding Ronaldo is still going on. It started so long ago, according to Ronaldo he made had made his decision before the champion’s league final. He decided not to tell us and now it has been going on for some months.

Ronald said…

“The possibilities of me going to Madrid are great but it does not depend on me.  I know there is a concrete offer on the table, now let’s see if we can reach a deal in the next days. ” He continued…

“For me it’s a very good opportunity. As Scolari says, this only happens once. I didn’t want to say anything because we were in competition and these are important decisions.”

Real Madrid president has also been stirring the situation by saying…

“If the kid keeps himself in that strong position, the step he has taken could be key. As we have already said many times, it is a problem between Manchester United and the player. If the two resolve the situation and Manchester United want to call us, then we will be happy and delighted with that because Cristiano is a great player.”

Simon says…

I really don’t know how this is still going. I am a United fan and I don’t care whether he stays or goes now. He has disrespected Fergie, the club and the fans. He has gone down in my estimation and I believe we will cash in. The prospect of Wesley Sneidjer joining and £40m in the bank sounds mouthwatering. I hope we do the deal and get rid of “the god”.

Ronaldo wants to go to Real Madrid

June 20, 2008

cristiano-ronaldo1 Ronaldo wants to go to Real MadridCristiano Ronaldo looks to have made a huge decision regarding his future at Man Utd. Cristiano who has been constantly linked Spanish giants Real Madrid told reporters that he intends to speak to United and hopes his “dream” will come true.

He said…

“It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want. For me it is a great opportunity, and as Scolari says, that train passes by only once, and we have to take advantage of it.  You will soon know what I want. You do know what I want and that is why I don’t want to say anything else. Let’s wait. I want to give more details that is why I cannot say much more.”

United quickly replied to the news…

“Further to Friday’s press speculation about where Cristiano Ronaldo’s future lies, the club has moved to reiterate its stance on the matter: United are not listening to offers. But the club reaffirmed to ManUtd.com on Friday morning that the 23-year-old United star is “not for sale”

Simon Says…

I think the boy is a great player and I really hope he stays at Man Utd. However with £70m and the likes of Robinho and Sergio Ramos in the frame then I hope Utd listen to offers. Its clear he doesn’t want to play at United so cash in and get a couple of players in the process.

Ronaldo fires Portugal into next round

June 12, 2008

cristiano-ronaldo Ronaldo fires Portugal into next roundMadrid president was probably watching as Cristiano Ronaldo piled on more pounds on to his transfer fee. They are talking £70-80m pounds, the way he is playing its more like £85-90m now. Ronaldo scored one and set up two as Portugal qualified for the quarters.

Portugal take lead…

Portugal started well and got an early goal. After some great one touch football Ronaldo ran after a ball in the box, Cech was out and got a foot to the ball. He could not get hold of the ball though and it ended up with Deco who scrambled the ball home to give Portugal the lead.

Czech’s fight back…

Many though the goal would mean an easy Portugal win, it wasn’t to be so easy as just 9 minutes after Deco scored the Czech’s hit back. A Plasil cross-found the on rushing Sionko to head in the leveller. Portugal could not defend corners and had numerous problems throughout the match.

Portugal regains control…

Ronaldo and Cech had a great battle with the goalkeeper making three fine saves to deny the Man Utd star. Until the 64th minute when Ronaldo found Deco on the right-hand side. He went past the fullback and squared the ball to “that boy Ronaldo” whose shot went flying into the bottom corner. 2-1 and Portugal were in total control. As they did in the first game, they killed off their opponents in injury time. Czech flew everyone up as they pressed for an equaliser. As they did that Portugal broke and a long ball found Ronaldo who ran towards Petr Cech. He could have scored on his own but with his teammate Quaresma trying to make an impression he coolly passed the ball past Cech to give Quaresma the easiest of tap-ins.

Ronaldo proved how good he and his team were and Portugal are the first team in the Quarter-finals.

Ronaldo makes possible u-turn

June 8, 2008

ronaldo4 Ronaldo makes possible u-turnIt goes on and on and on, “the transfer saga of Cristiano Ronaldo”. One minute he is going and the next he is staying. Earlier in the week he apparently told Brazilian newspapers that he wants to go to Real Madrid.  Ronaldo has denied this after he said that he is still undecided about his future and wants to decide after Euro 2008.

Ronaldo said…

”Still I do not know where I will play, I have not yet decided. It will be decided after the European Championships.”

This news will make United fans a little happier, could their star asset stay after the all the speculation surrounding him over the past few months.

Ronaldo’s mum has also said that her son should and would stay in England at Man Utd.

One thing is for sure, Cristiano WILL play in Spain in his career, the question is… when.

Ronaldo wants to leave

June 7, 2008

Crsitiano RonaldoCristiano Ronaldo has rocked Man Utd by asking if he can join Real Madrid. The star who is preparing for Euro 2008 has obviously been distracted by the amount of money Madrid have been talking about and now Ronaldo wants to leave.

Ronaldo told reporters…

“I would like to play for Real Madrid but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Manchester United ask of them.”

This will infuriate United and they are now going to report Real Madrid to FIFA and relationships between the two clubs are rock bottom.  Man Utd are prepared to let Ronaldo “rot” in the stands, which is not good news for the winger as he looks to push through a deal with Madrid.
